EqualScope – Center for the study of Social Inequality and Life Chances
Short description
EqualScope is a research center at the University of Milan, based in the Department of Social and Political Sciences. It investigates the origins, mechanisms, and consequences of social inequalities in life chances across various domains: education, family, the labour market, demographic dynamics, civic and political attitudes and behaviours, and health and well-being.
Mission
EqualScope develops theoretically grounded and methodologically rigorous research on social inequality and life chances. By combining research with teaching and outreach activities, the centre aims to:
- advance academic knowledge on social inequalities and life chances;
- contribute to public debate by providing robust evidence and accessible dissemination;
- support the design and evaluation of fairer and more effective public policies.
